First: Forever Celtic

16 x 20 collage

I am back to my heritage, and Celtic origin.  These are again based on the Callanish Standing stones in the Outer Hebridean Islands of Scotland.  I have used the Celtic symbol which some think is the symbol for everlasting life and superimposed it on the picture. Some of the stones actually have this symbol carved into them in real life.

The Potting Shed

16 x 20 oil on canvas.

This painting was done during a plein air session at our local nursery. Christianson’s Nursery near LaConner, WA.  The gentleman taking a rest in the doorway gave me permission to paint him, but I never found out who he was.
The Eye

8 x 8 collage on chunky canvas.

This is an idea which haunts me from time to time.  I imaging how it would be in the jungle to suddenly realize some creature was watching and waiting for me to go by.

  • About Me

As an artist in oils and mixed media, I draw my inspiration from books I have read, from music and legends, and from my experiences living and traveling in many different countries such as Europe, Scandinavia, the Far East and here in America. Most of my work is from my imagination and also sometimes from memories of people and landscapes which touched me in some way. I try to experiment with different media to reflect the excitement of movement and color in my pieces. Ideas often come to me in the middle of the night, or while sitting quietly in my studio, or reading. The pieces that seem to interest the viewer are almost always the ones I feel most passionate about myself. Making art is a wonderful way of sharing.
